CREDENTIALS

McKenzie Johnsen, PA-C

As both a provider and former dermatology patient, McKenzie believes that healthy skin plays a powerful role not just in physical health, but also in emotional well-being and self-esteem. Her passion for dermatology comes from seeing how personalized care can transform a patient’s daily life, helping them feel more comfortable, empowered, and connected to the people and activities they love.

McKenzie grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before moving to Utah to complete her undergraduate degree in Public Health at Brigham Young University, where she maintained an academic scholarship and was consistently named to the Dean’s List. During her time at BYU, she also served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Curitiba, Brazil for 18 months. McKenzie went on to earn her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Rocky Mountain University in Provo, Utah, where she served as the Wellness Chair and received a Merit Scholarship. She also pursued and completed her Doctor of Medical Science degree with a practicum project focused on dermatology.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews. She also loves playing pickleball, reading historical fiction, watching reality TV and crime documentaries, planning extreme game nights (like real-life Big Brother competitions), and spending time on the beach.
