Hailing originally from the Pacific Northwest, she completed her undergraduate degree in Neurobiology from the University of Washington and graduated with honors. She went on to receive her MD from Northwestern University in Chicago where she graduated Cum Laude and was awarded the Phi Rho Sigma Dennis award for outstanding clinical performance. After medical school, she moved to Columbia, Missouri to complete her dermatology residency at the University of Missouri, where she served as chief resident in her final year. Following residency she completed a prestigious fellowship which focused on the full spectrum of cosmetic and laser surgery. She is thrilled to be at the Gateway Institute to continue to work with innovators in aesthetic medicine.

Dr. McClean’s interests are far reaching. In addition to fillers and injectables, she has expertise in ablative laser resurfacing, laser blepharoplasty, acne scar surgery and tumescent liposuction. Her passion lies in individualizing treatments to help patients achieve their goals. She strives to be at the forefront of academic inquiry to develop new techniques and therapies for dermatologic issues. Her research has been published in national dermatology journals and she has presented at local and national conferences. Her current research interests include the development of improved non surgical alternatives to face lifting and the use of regenerative medicine within the field of dermatology.

Outside of work, Dr. McClean enjoys spending time with her husband and their two doodles. They enjoy travel both internationally and locally and are excited to take in the natural beauty that Utah has to offer. She hopes to hike a new trail at least weekly and would love your input on which one to try next! In the winter you will find her hitting the slopes to ski on the “best snow on earth”. Dr. McClean and her husband also enjoy restaurant tourism and experiencing new cuisines, as well as taking in local music, arts, and theater.
