Ozempic Face: The Effect of Weight Loss

Transcript:

How does weight loss affect the skin? The ozempic face, as someone coined recently. Ozempic face is basically the loss of fat in the face that makes us look, I guess, more gaunt or even older because we’re a little more saggy, a little bit more wrinkly, and more bony in certain areas.

How’s that treated? It’s typically treated with tightening agents to help tighten the skin. A little bit of more topical, but usually more energy-based type of modalities, ablative or non-ablative lasers, microneedling with radiofrequency, et cetera, even micro-focused ultrasound. But another big thing would be fillers. So fillers, either straight fillers or collagen stimulators like Sculpt or Radiesse can help replace some of this fat that’s been lost. So you feel better, you’re more healthy, but you look less gaunt, less bony.

Hope that helps. That explains a little bit what the Ozempic face is. Thanks for watching.
